The instances of Indigenous Identity Fraud are rampant and unchecked in Canada.  There are no consequences to impersonating an Indigenous person in this country, thus the Ghost Warrior Society Against Indigenous Identity Fraud seeks to authenticate those claiming indigenous spaces who purport to speak on our behalf in leadership and teaching positions, and other positions of authority. 

 

The cost of Indigenous Identity Fraud is in the millions and rising and this issue is very harmful to indigenous people.  The lifelines embedded in Truth and Reconciliation are for Indigenous people who are genuinely in need of it due to limited resources.
